Vetta Sports is seeking an enthusiastic, results-driven individual to join our operations team as a Manager on Duty (MOD). In this crucial supervisory role, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of all event-day operations, ensuring superior experience, staff compliance, and the safety and security of the facility. Your primary function will be high-level problem-solving, staff leadership, and maintaining the highest operational standards during all events, games, and large-scale facility rentals.
Event-Day Operations Oversight: Act as the highest-ranking non-executive manager on the floor. Oversee the successful execution of pre-game, in-game, and post-game activities across all departments, including concessions, ticketing, security, and cleaning services.
Fan Experience and Crowd Management: Proactively monitor fan flow, queuing, and general crowd behavior. Handle all escalated fan-related incidents, complaints, and issues (e.g., ticket disputes, disruptive behavior) with professionalism, ensuring swift, fair, and positive resolutions.
Staff Leadership and Supervision: Provide clear direction and supervision to all front-line supervisors and staff during events. Maintain strict accountability for all employees regarding performance, appearance, and adherence to established service standards and facility policies.
Compliance and Safety: Serve as the immediate liaison for security and emergency personnel on event day. Strictly enforce all company, league, and local regulations, including those governing alcohol service (Responsible Service), access control, and facility safety standards.
Incident Response and Reporting: Serve as the primary on-shift contact for all operational and safety emergencies. Document all significant operational incidents, security issues, medical calls, and guest interactions in a thorough end-of-shift report for review by General Management.
Venue Readiness and Closeout: Conduct pre-event walk-throughs to ensure all areas are guest-ready (restrooms, seating, etc). Oversee the efficient and secure closeout procedures, including cash drops, equipment security, and final venue sweep.
2+ years of experience in a supervisory, team lead, or management role within a stadium, arena, high-volume entertainment venue, or hospitality operation is strongly preferred.
Proven ability to manage and motivate a large, diverse team in a high-pressure, event-driven, and often loud environment.
Knowledge of crowd management principles and emergency response procedures is a significant asset.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to give clear directives and de-escalate confrontational situations with guests.
Must be proficient in handling cash reconciliation, operating a Point-of-Sale (POS) system, and preparing operational reports.
Must be at least 21 years of age (where applicable for supervisory authority over bar staff).
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, particularly during the primary sports season.
Must pass a comprehensive background check.
Work requires extensive walking, prolonged periods of standing, and climbing stairs in an active stadium environment.
Involves light lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, and reaching.
May be exposed to varying noise levels (loud crowds, announcements) and outdoor weather conditions.
This is a part-time position requiring a flexible schedule dictated by the facility's event calendar, including primary season game days.
